Support for your Diaspora Organisations

They bear names such as “Georgian Migrants”, “Art of Buna”, “Albanian Medical Federation in Europe” or “Viet Nam Germany Innovation Network”. These diaspora organisations might have different names and be committed to different non-profit activities, however, they share the same goal: to improve the living conditions of their compatriots, whether in Germany or in their countries of origin.

In Germany, diaspora organisations play a vital role in promoting the integration of people with a migration background and thus contribute to the intercultural enrichment of the country. In their countries of origin, diaspora organisations implement development-oriented projects together with local partners to improve living conditions, drive innovation and foster knowledge exchange between their old and new homes. We support these projects in two ways: by offering expert advice on how to transform project ideas into impactful initiatives and by providing financial support to ensure the successful implementation of these projects.

Since 2011, we have advised numerous diaspora organisations on how to transform their ideas into impactful projects and apply for public funding. During this period, around 250 diaspora organisations have effectively brought their ideas to fruition in their respective countries of origin.

We currently support diaspora organisations that are active or seeking to become active in the following countries: Albania, Cameroon, Colombia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, India, Kosovo, Nepal, Serbia, Tunisia, Ukraine, and Viet Nam.
