I am an engineer by profession. My mission is simple but powerful: to reinvent mobility by merging innovation with sustainability.

Boubaker Siala

Boubaker’s journey with Bako Motors started during the coronavirus pandemic, during which Boubaker and his son often rode around on their bikes. One day, his son asked: “Can't you turn my bike into an electric bike?” Asked, done. The engineer converted his son's bike into a solar-powered electric bike. After that, he built a larger vehicle – a 3-wheeler with a solar panel on the roof that can be powered by both solar energy and electricity. Two years later, he designed and produced a 4-wheel vehicle.

The vehicles Bako Motor produces are light and agile. Compared to traditional vehicles, they are more sustainable and cost-effective – both in terms of purchase and operation. Their large luggage compartment makes them especially interesting for logistics and e-commerce companies that work in the last mile delivery. Another benefit that is particularly useful: The solar vehicles have a power socket that can be used as a charging station or generator in rural areas without electricity.

My company creates new jobs in a promising industry. Currently, Bako Motors has a staff of 42 employees in Tunisia. We have also started to market our product in other countries like France, Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
