Diaspora Networks

In our increasingly interconnected world, the importance of networking cannot be overstated. Networks help exchange and generate innovative ideas, launch new projects, and forge collaborations that can drive change. We strengthen networks among engaged diaspora actors as a crucial means to amplify their diverse contributions to the development of their countries of origin.

We also promote dialogue between state actors and their diaspora communities. This ensures that the engagement of the diaspora is even more effective in contributing to sustainable development. Below are some notable examples of how we foster networks and promote dialogue.

Celebrating the South Asian Diaspora in Germany

In July 2024, we were able to offer members of the diaspora from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India and Nepal a platform for dialogue and networking.

The 2nd Diaspora Summit in Berlin

In 2024, we supported the second edition of the "Diaspora Summit" which brough together brought together diaspora organisations and state institutions.

Peer-to-Peer Exchange Between Tunisian and Cameroonian Diaspora Members

Following the African Diaspora Network Investment Symposium (ADIS24), we brought together members of the Cameroonian and Tunisian diasporas in Frankfurt for a peer-to-peer exchange.

„Nepali Professionals' Summit“

In spring 2024, the Embassy of Nepal in Germany hosted the "Nepali Professionals' Summit" in Berlin together with the GIZ programme “Shaping development-oriented migration” (MEG).

The Albanian Diaspora Women Summit

For the 5th Albanian Diaspora Women’s Summit, about 180 businesswomen from the Albanian diaspora worldwide gathered in Tirana to exchange ideas and discuss their role in the development of the country.
