Celebrating the South Asian Diaspora in Germany
In 2024, we hosted an event titled “Celebrating South Asian Diaspora in Germany”. This vibrant gathering took place in Bonn and brought together women with migration histories from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, and Nepal. During the event, a panel discussion highlighted the challenges South Asian women face in Germany, but also the opportunities available to them. Participants shared their personal stories, revealing their struggles and successes in a new country.
A key outcome of this meeting was the decision to create an informal network among the participants. This network will help them stay connected, plan future events, exchange ideas and build a supportive community.
