Taking care of people who are looking for protection and security is in my heart and mind. As an insurance broker, I did that through analogue means. My business COMESO now allows me to do it digitally and to reach more people.Gloria came to Germany when she was two years old. One day, her aunt in Ghana fell sick. Gloria’s mother sent money in order for her to get treatment. The money got there. However, it was not used for her aunt’s treatment, leading to her untimely death. This tragic experience, along with many similar stories of misappropriated remittances, inspired Gloria to develop a digital remittance solution.
Together with her business partners from Eritrea and Sri Lanka, she aims to ensure that funds sent for healthcare are used as intended. Her innovative system allows people in the European Diaspora to ensure that their families back home receive proper healthcare. A voucher system integrated into the platform makes sure that the money is used for its intended purpose.
Cooperation with trustworthy healthcare institutions in Ghana and a transparent money transfer additionally ensure peace of mind for both senders and recipients. Plus, the payment solution is financially inclusive, which means that recipients only need a cell phone to access the money and the corresponding healthcare service.
Gloria has already received significant recognition for her venture, including being honoured as “Ghana Fintech leader of the year 2022” by the Fintech and Payment Association Ghana.
There are many countries in the world where people cannot afford healthcare and depend on support from their loved ones. My business partners I have one common goal: to prevent the loss of lives due to insufficient healthcare caused by a lack of financial resources.
