Why is Club des Amis e.V. involved in Cameroon?
In many rural areas of Cameroon, limited energy supply and frequent power interruptions remain ongoing challenges. These issues affect daily life and hinder economic progress. At the same time, unemployment continues to pose a significant concern, particularly among young people. Yet the potential for small, affordable solar power systems is enormous: they not only improve local living conditions, but also open up new sources of income. At the same time, they reduce CO₂ emissions and thus contribute to climate protection.
What is planned?
- Workshops and seminars to teach the basics of renewable energy, particularly solar energy
- Equipping four clinics and four orphanages with self-sufficient solar energy systems and support during installation (training and supervision)
- Identifying business opportunities in the solar energy sector for the future establishment of start-ups
