My migration history began when I came to Germany for the first time at the age of 16 as part of an exchange programme. During this period, I lived with two host families, which introduced me to the German culture and way of life. Over the years, I took part in various formats that brought me back to Germany, including an internship at the German Bundestag and a Master's degree. In 2016, however, I moved to Germany permanently, where I have lived ever since.

I see myself as a ‘circular migrant’ who feels strongly connected to both Germany and Albania. This dynamic has shaped my identity and I envision continuing to commute between these two countries, maintaining connections and contributing to both societies.

My motivation to serve on the Diaspora Advisory Board comes from my personal experience as a diaspora member. This has given me a deep understanding of our community's challenges and potential. Having led a diaspora organisation for the past two years, I know first-hand the unique needs and potential of our members and the important role they play in shaping policies that affect our community. My role in the board would be to use my experience and networks to ensure that the voices of the diaspora are heard and considered in all relevant discussions to promote inclusive and sustainable migration policy-making.
