Returning Experts for Ukraine's Recovery

Are you originally from Ukraine and would like to contribute to the reconstruction of the country with your technical expertise? The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH offers you the opportunity to do so. As a highly qualified “Returning Expert”, GIZ supports you to work with a local employer and help rebuild your country of origin. This includes the planning of your return, finding a job and a subsidy on your local salary.

This opportunity is offered by the Expert Fund Migration & Diaspora (FMD), which is part of GIZ and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Who are “Returning Experts for Ukraine's Recovery”?

Returning Experts (RE) are highly skilled individuals who have gained their expertise in Germany and wish to leverage their skills in local institutions by returning to their country of origin for an extended period.

Many people with a migration history study, live and work in Germany and continue to feel a close connection to their countries of origin. Some of them would like to return at some point – also to make a difference locally. This holds great potential for sustainable development. Through their commitment to their countries of origin, Returning Experts bring valuable expertise, knowledge, and experience to their local employers, driving innovation and offering new perspectives. In Ukraine, this expertise can significantly aid the country's reconstruction efforts.
