I was born in Ghana. I came to Germany in 2010 after completing my bachelor education and working for some years in Ghana. I migrated to Germany to pursue a master’s degree in International Social Sciences and afterwards my PhD in Sociology.

Being a member of the Diaspora Advisory Board offers me the opportunity to provide input to the MEG programme in the field of diaspora cooperation. As a board member my motivation comes from the opportunity to put my vast experience to use by supporting initiatives that improve the well-being of humanity.

Simply put, I am passionate about exploring all the possible opportunities to harness the positive outcomes of migration and improve the dignity and respect of all people involved.

I am a team player, an academic, researcher, evaluator and a practitioner. I bring to the board a multi-disciplinary and practice-based approach backed by analytical and attention to details. I have also travelled widely, implementing, or assessing humanitarian and development initiatives.

These experiences offer me a wholistic view, yet a context-specific understanding of interventions and projects which I bring to the board.

I am a migration research scholar focusing on Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe. In my studies, I address topics such as migration governance, diaspora engagement, return migration, reintegration, and the socio-political dynamics of identity and belonging. I am also a businessman and the founder of the Centre for Return and i-Migration in Ghana.
