Social worker, Systemic family council

I am originally from Cameroon. I emigrated to Germany in 1991 after graduating from high school and studying for a year at the University of Yaoundé. After my training, I initially worked as a nurse for nine years. I then trained in mediation and systemic family counselling. Since 2004, I have been working as a social worker at the Margaretenhort child and youth welfare centre in Hamburg.
As a migrant, co-founder of a non-profit limited company and long-standing board member of migrant self-organisations (MSOs), I am well aware of the challenges, faced by women-led MSOs.
Over the last 20 years, I have implemented projects in the Global South and gained valuable experience in the process. I have many ideas on how the current challenges can be overcome effectively, and I am keen to share these ideas and inspiration with others. Through their collective commitment, the diaspora can make an important contribution to ensuring that social justice and peace prevail, poverty and hunger are mitigated, and all people and nations have fair development opportunities.
One of my ‘superpowers’ for the DAB is my experience in using social media platforms, especially for public relations, to create more visibility. I also have a wealth of experience in cooperating with NGO partners in the Global South as well as with partners based in Germany. Another of my strengths lies in the area of project planning and implementation.
I coordinated the ASA Programme 2024, a development education programme run by Engagement Global that is aimed at people who have completed vocational training and students between the ages of 21 and 30.
I am co-founder and managing director of ‘J&T German African Cooperation gGmbH’ and have been on the board of the ‘Meta Cultural and Development Association’ e.V. Hamburg (MECUDA) since 2024. I have been a member of the church council of the ‘Ev.-Luth Segensgemeinde’ Hamburg Harburg since 2016.
From 2019 to 2024, I was on the board of African Women for Empowerment e. V. (AWE) and Southern Cameroons European Women e.V. (SCEW).
