Many people with a history of migration study, live and work in Germany and continue to feel a close connection with their country of origin. Many of them want to return one day – some with the desire to change things there. This holds great potential for sustainable development. When migrants return, they bring expertise and experience they can offer local employers and share with others. Their contribution enables innovation and opens up new prospects for people. This is where German development cooperation comes into play, supporting assignments of such Returning Experts.
